Why Flowers Don't Talk Anymore

"Ouch!" said Beatrice, in a weak voice. "That hurts!" "Ha, ha, ha, ha! You have a cold!" Wyett  would reply. "Would you think it's fun to have a cold and then just be laughed at all day?" asked Beatrice. "Why even ask? I don't have a cold!" said Wyett. "Oh, never mind," said Beatrice under her breath. She sighed. Why couldn't she just get rid  of her cold and be like the other flowers? she thought. I'll just go out there and say that I don't think it's okay to laugh and be mean to other flowers. She tried that, but that didn't work. Wyett just ignored her. "I'll do something," she said to herself. "If I think of something." The next day, something very strange happened. Someone was calling for help, in a weak voice, like when Beatrice talked, because she had a very bad cold. She couldn't figure out if it was a boy, or a girl calling. But she soon found out what it was. It was Wyett! And he was calling for her help! "Why would I do that?" she asked. "Because... Because..." said Wyatt, realizing that he wasn't very nice to Beatrice. "Because why?" asked Beatrice. "Because I can't-- when he was about to say talk, he could not. And niether could Beatrice, or any other flower. And that was the end of the flower talk. Flowers never talk anymore because they used to talk too much. Beatrice already knew that cows used to hear them talking, but she isn't worried now, because they won't hear them talking now! So now the cows eat grass (dead, or alive).                           THE END OF THE STORY

The moral of the story is: if you want people to be nice to you, be nice to other people.
